Attended my first West coast drift event presented by the guys at Capital Drift. I really enjoyed the grassroots and community feel of the event but the small turnout makes me fear for the future.
It's a nice mix of proper amateurs and some purpose built drift cars sporting DMCC banners.

There were a handful of Corollas which is nice to see since they're pretty much extinct in professional competition. The green hatch was rocking an SR20 set up, the grey coupe went with the silvertop and there was a matte black coupe still putting the 16v through the paces. He seemed to have some trouble with the large sweepers but showed his skill on the tighter sections.

Kohei Nakamura put on a great show and displayed some serious skill but with a spin in the final run the night went to the SR20 AE86 (I believe the drivers name was Chris lol, someone help me out). It was a tight final battle.

Nakamura came damn close and looked sexy doing it.

It was a great event and fantastic show. I'd like to see the community continue to grow but it needs the support. I brought some friends who had no idea what drifting was and they were officially converted.
If you weren't there, what's your excuse.
I think the kid that took it was Chris Scremin of Drift Safari fame. That’s my story until someone checks my facts.
Rad! That widebody has fail offset tho! I’m jealous of your steez on the west coast James !
