Murder Sprees and Black Betty's & other bits

Here's just some random stuff from lately. I managed to score a whore of a scooter. This started as someones mom's scooter, then their sons, then their friends, another friends, lent and returned from another friend, then spent some time in a storage unit. 1984 Honda Spree, in the Canadian only 'Vista Blue'. It's a Heap. #1 lesson in scooters is DONT REMOVE THE AIR BOX. The tiny little 2 strokes don't do well as the carbs are purposely oversized and need the restriction the air box gives to run and idle properly. It does not make them faster to...

Flossin' Traffic.

Many moons ago I had a catastrophic financial failure and had to sell everything I owned. I had been living in a forest building custom Toyota Corollas, all assembled from other peoples refuse. Suddenly I returned home to find I was forced to move into the City, all while shedding my precious Corolla stash. Landing on a couch I found a job at a local BMW dealership on the other side of town. After a few weeks of some big long walks, another local Corolla lover told me there might be a scooter I could have. Hosting a long term growth of...

Understanding your butt.

The butt? An important tool of fun. Our posterior plays an important role in car fun. It's often what we refer to when we discuss our experience in a fast automobile. Sadly almost all of these articles are regurgitation of the same few clues over and over. I've been doing some preliminary research into finding this car once, and for all. Let's openly document what we know about this car. Where do we start?

  • ?????? -1977 Celica pace cars are built, most likely by Molly Designs of California. (vehicles style is attributed to...

Have things changed?

I recently got a question about fuel economy. I am engrossed by this topic. People keep telling me, new cars are more fuel efficient than old cars. I agree, but that's not the issue. How much more efficient are these new engines and cars than older ones? I'm not a scientist, I am not a researcher, heck I'm pretty poor and dumb. However, it's my observation that gasoline itself, can't burn much more efficiently than it currently does. Long ago we dealt with back fires from unburnt fuel, poorly working fueling system, low quality fitment tolerances, sticky bearings, and inconsistent...
