Daikoku Futo rest stop is one of those mystical mecca's of car culture. You've seen it in videos and magazines, it's been immortalized in manga. It sits on some island outside of time and space somewhere between Tokyo and Yokohama. Of course we ended up there mid-week which made for a mediocre mecca but it was still great to be there and bask...

As the year comes to a close I thought I'd take a look back at 2009. It really was a remarkable year. It marked Speed Hero's first year. There was a trip across the globe for Quinn and myself and a relocation across the country for me. Considering 2009 was just the beginning, I can only imagine what 2010 has to offer. Gasoline is on it's way out, though maybe not quite in this youth of mine, but some part of my life I will experience a dramatic change in the way the world commutes. Not only have production cars began to lightly change for these very reasons, but the car culture has began to grow it's own legs and have learned at this point, to walk with the idea.
