Its Wednesday, Middle of the week, the weekend was long ago and Friday's not quite here yet, so what do you do? We do what we do every Wednesday, Drift.

If you are lucky enough to live in Australia, every Wednesday afternoon you are invited to come 'round to your local go kart track for a friendly gathering of Drift enthusiasts.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="The majestic Jzx100 frolicking in it's natural environment."][/caption]
The easy going practice atmosphere allows pro and amateur alike to just get out on the track and push the limit a little.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="The Confrontation - the last thing you want to see while drifting."][/caption]
The regularity and affordability of these events allows all budgets to join in the fun, from the home made track monsters...
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="Fanki's R31 definitely won the award for loudest car."][/caption]
...to the simple daily driver.

From the well built show cars...

... to V8 smoke machines?

But no matter what they drove, everyone was doing what they loved, and so cars were pushed to their limits, and beyond.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="An R33 Skyline spinning and mounting a dirt mound. Everybody loves a crash."][/caption]
The action continues until late at night, so everyone can get in plenty of laps and really build up their confidence.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="400" caption="Boro R31 Wagon - Poor lighting is not so great for photos."][/caption]
The tight, low speed gokart track allows for some really up close action.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="Not a good day for the R33's - this one crashed right infront of us."][/caption]
The track can be very challenging due to its tight corners with limited room to build up speed, generally in days like this, you'll see people try new ways of taking the corners, some things work, some don't, but it really helps build the drivers pallet.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="Big handbrake entry into the first corner."][/caption]
At the end of the day, everyone has a ball and makes some new friends. Day well spent.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="Nice purple R32 again."][/caption]
But some things are just better left to manuals...

...unless of course you drive an R33.
