Jay, posting from Indonisia!
Apparently at one time KE3x Corollas were really popular in Indonesia. 2- and 4-door sedan versions only, never seen a wagon or a coupe. Even today there are still a heck of a lot of them out on the roads, even though other cars from that era are mostly gone by now. In this country a car is still a huge purchase for your average middle-class family, and they're kept and cared for far longer than they would be in North America or Europe. The 'roadside mechanic' industry is thriving. I...
Where I wor....volenteer?
Don't worry, there is a definite exchange of value, but it's not a cash value. I met Phil a while ago, and to be honest this is one of the longest jobs I've held. Adrenaline Motorsports [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="Young and Old"][/caption] A small shop of just Phil the skilled engineer and Suprafanatic, and my self with my clumsy hands and over bearing knowledge of Japanese cars and terrible spelling and grammar. Phil specializes in two things: restoring Supras and dealing with my non-nonsensical babble. When not wrenching...
Soooo Greedy.
One of the things that really pisses me off about the North American car market is that, there are other cars available. Other markets around the world, owned or co-owned by the Big 3 offer much more down to earth, function before form cars. Let's take for example the Nissan Bakkie: The Bakkie...errr I mean, the Datsun Sunny pickup, not only was sold in Japan up until 1994, basically unmodified from it's original design, but they still sell them BRAND NEW in Africa. Not only are they a no-frills vehicle, but...
Long time, no see.
I met Fredrik a long ass time ago, never in person, but we kept in contact for a few years. Frederik has been an inspiration of mine when it comes for a love of a well built Corolla, a well aged cheese, a fine women/cigar, and horrible 3 spoke wheels (I seriously love them.) Here is FSR's contribution to the world of Corolla's. Happy 8-6 Day. Lest your builds be badass.
Chicken or the Egg?
