Shops of Japan, Mega Post.

This is an image at about 7am on our last day, on our way back to the airport. We just got to hang out for a few minutes outside of Top Secret. Top Secret This sign was the shitty sign of the two. :D [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024" caption="one mans junk....."]one mans junk.....[/caption] We rummaged through the junk bin beside top secret and saved a Gold coloured R34 taillight cover, had we been able to take more home with us, we would've filled the van with their garbage! Hot Rod Alley [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024" caption="Welcome to the alley."]Welcome to the alley.[/caption] We ran into this pretty late at night. Toyota Crown wagons and Cedric wagons for some reason are considered 'American' in Japan, and often have wood paneling, roof racks and Crager wheels on them! Great example here of an Americanized Crown wagon. This shop had maybe 7-10 of them on their property! Super Auto Bacs [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024" caption="The parking lot was packed."]The parking lot was packed.[/caption] [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024" caption="....hooligans!"]....hooligans![/caption] Oh Boy, those Shakotan hooligans! So much silliness, I don't think they realized the person they were talking to had probably owned just as many old Japanese cars as they have..... You must remember that Super Auto Bacs is not just a small shop....They have a 3 story parking garage beside their Super Store, these shots are just the random, mid-week cars parked in the garage! I don't really think people understand how HUGE of a company Autobacs really is. This is the Autobacs ASL Garaiya. Do you know any other car maintenance and accessories stores that have their own production cars? It was a nice treat to randomly run into browsing around the Super Store....big enough it had it's own restaurant and Arcade! Max Japan [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024" caption="Max Japan!"]Max Japan![/caption] Welcome to Max Japan. This lot was PACKED with old and awesome Japanese Steel hydro formings and/or pressings. I left DNA all over that parking lot. "]This is what you find in the Up Garage Parking lots. [/caption] We spent a lot of time in various UP Garages through out Japan. They are their greatest natural resource. Extremely inexpensive, highly versatile and ever changing selection of USED performance parts. They are like a pawn shop for racing parts, did I mention they are a huge chain of stores? [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024" caption="No clue...."]No clue....[/caption] CAST Cast was a small shop of new and used cars. Their used section was the most interesting. Extremely well priced, and the staff was super friendly! [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024" caption="We were getting back in the Van when this group wanted to say hello!"]We were getting back in the Van when this group wanted to say hello![/caption] Challange Tokio Another vintage car shop, the owner of this one actually helped buff a scratch out of our rental van! Stay tuned for Part 2!!! [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="576" caption="...in ain't E-Z"]...in aint E-Z[/caption]
