Peter Weir, the man behind the Truman Show and Master and Commander started his career directing movies in his native Australia. His classic "The Cars That Eat People" also known as "The Cars That Ate Paris" is a dark, unsettling look at a secluded Australian town that lives off scavenging from wrecks they cause.
It offers subtle jabs at rampant consumerism and is engulfed in gallows humor and a fair amount of grue however, playing spot the car is the most fun.
This flick is definitely worth a watch if you can track it down. My VHS copy has certainly seen better days.
For those of you that can't find the movie, there's always the IMCDb.org entry, showing a lot of the cars from the film. Check it out.
